      The above cut shows the mill grinding oats to lubricate the plates whilst grinding corn and cobs and mixing the product.

                                  DESCRIPTION OF SINGLE MILL.

No. 1-Double reduction grinding discs, cast steel, cheaply renewed; described on page 28.
No. 2-Cob crushing saw, cast fast to spindle with lead, no bolts to rattle out  Cut on page 29.
No .3-Grinding Case. cast in two halves, each with babbitted journal cast fast in it.   There are three discharge openings, one on either side and one downward.
No.  3 1/2-Back half of case.
No.  4-Tramming ring, turned true on face side, and has stationary plate bolted to it.  Ring is      on a universal joint, retaining grinding faces in perfect line to each other.
No. 5-Running head to which running plate is bolted.
No. 6-Bridge tree. provided with spring (No. 61) attached to allow plates to separate if
          nails or other foreign matter should enter the mill by accident.
No. 8-Steel spindle, on which running head, cob crusher, eccentric, pulley and fly        wheel are attached.
No.  9-Damzel, with malleable casting and two steel plates, between which the eccentric works.
No.  10-Hopper, with valve, to control feed.
No.  10 1/2-Valve.
No.  11-Pulley, crown face, allowing belt to approach from any angle and to be     removed without unlacing.
